I'm working on evolutionary approaches to culture - religion in particular. I'm not a great fan of religion, so I have a fair bit in common with Dawkins - but the viral analogies he makes are a little loose ended. Is there really anything to the idea that religions are like viruses? - or is the idea there just to excite derision?
My overall aim is to defend Memetics from the common criticisms, admit to its shortfalls, fix them in answer to Hull, and to locate it, operably, within other theories such as group selection.
