Saatviga Sudhahar

I’m currently a PhD student in Engineering Maths at the University of Bristol, UK. My research area is Web Intelligence that is basically the application of artificial intelligence techniques to web technologies. This involves both the extraction of information from web content (such as news but possibly other types of content) and the generation of content by machines for human consumption (this would involve for example generation of text but possibly even speech).

I completed BSc in Information and Communication Technology degree at the University of Colombo School of Computing(UCSC) with a First Class Honors. I’m an IEEE author and also a Sun Certified Java Professional (SCJP) under platform 1.4. I’m certified with Merit in UNIX,C,C++ offered by SSI Education, India and also certified with Credit in Oracle 9i offered by the Mercantile Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka.

I was a member of the Academic Staff at University of Colombo School of Computing(UCSC), Sri Lanka. I worked as a main contributor for the eHealth project “ViduSuwa” – A Patient-centric eHealth Solution for Sri Lanka through Telemedicine and mCommunication in which I specialize in Electronic Medical Records(EMR) and Telemedicine Technologies. The project won the “eSwabhimani 2009″ – The National Best eContent award, “Manthan South Asia” award and NBQSA 2010 Silver Award for its excellence. Currently I’m involved in creating the IIRAA (International Institute of Research and Analytical Activities), a research institute that coordinates existing talents and aims to provide independent spaces for their interaction and integration. I have contributed as a Software Developer in developing the Work Force Management System for Sri Lanka Telecom and also in building a secure File Transfer System for Nations Trust Bank, Sri Lanka. I also worked as a Researcher in the Student Unit Trainee Program based on Software Engineering at Mertek Infosys (Pvt) Ltd and as a Associate Software Developer at Epic Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
