I am currently working on a database of global volcanic eruptions - VOGRIPA. This database is being converted onto a more specialist platform with the target of having it publicly accessible by mid 2011. It currently contains data on ~1800 eruptions of Magnitude 4 and above stretching back to 2 My. Analyses will be done to identify a magnitude-frequency relationship, which can be used to make generalised predictions of future global activity. We also have a number of international collaborations working on extending the database into specific hazards, and we will also incorporate a vulnerability measure in order to convert hazard to risk.
