About
I am a PhD student in philosophy at the University of Bristol. My research interests broadly speaking, (though to exclude just a few), are the philosophy of the mind and body, cognitive science, phenomenology and philosophy of art. I am currently acting as an editorial cooperator for the journal "Avant: portal of philosophical-interdisciplinary vanguard", a new journal largely concerned with the relationship between the philosophy of mind, the philosophy of art and cognitive science.
I did my masters by research at the University of Edinburgh under Dr Julian Kiverstein on the sensorimotor theory. I asked whether or not the sensorimotor theory can make head way against a purely internal theory of the mind, and, if so, if it can make progress with the ever pressing mind-body problem. Whilst here I won an essay prize by the ASSC, leading to a publication on these issues in the journal "Psyche".
During my undergraduate degree in philosophy at UWE Bristol I acted part time as an english mentor. I was also a volunteer teacher for three months in Costa Rica, summer 2008. It was at UWE that I did my first talk for the philosophy society in April 2010.
I find Spinoza oddly compelling.
