About

I am a PhD student at the Department of Engineering Mathematics in the University of Bristol. I have always been concerned of patterns that come up from nature, and its inherent beauty. It might be the main reason why I have focused my research interests on it since I was studying my undergraduate degree ---in physics--- in Mexico. Indeed, ordered structures are not only fascinating from an aesthetic viewpoint, also they can be found in biological processes. I am convinced physics and mathematics particularly can provide a very useful approach in order to interpret better our environment.

My PhD project is mainly related to the understanding of the initiation of root hair of plants. By searching for pattern formation and specific dynamics on a non-homogenous reaction-diffusion system, I study molecular interactions in the cell via bifurcation analysis, asymptotic methods and numerical simulation.

Also, during my master's degree ---in applied mathematics--- and last undergraduate years, I gave several lectures on Complex Analysis, Linear Algebra, ODE and PDE in the Faculty of Science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico ---UNAM.
